Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to see yourself through an artist’s eyes? To embrace and love your body exactly how it is?  And to fall in love with what you see.  It would feel like Freedom.  Liberation. It would feel like coming home to yourself, finally.  Maybe for the first time in your life.  Society says we’re not beautiful unless we fit a specific mold.  That we’re not worthy anymore once we start getting wrinkles and gray hair.  We wear those conditions like armor. Dancing in a golden field with silk as light as air as the sunlight spills over your beaming face. Or walking through a quiet forest, feeling the peace of being at home in your body, reconnecting with nature.  A sense of tranquility and self love like you’ve never felt before washing over you like the sweetness of spring. Don't wait until you "lose that last XX pounds" or "find someone to give the photos to".  NOW is the best time.  You already know this.  All we have is now, we have no idea what the future brings, or when our time is up.  We sit idly by and say, "one day I'll learn to love myself" until the weeks, months and years pass by and we've missed out on so much because we were so concerned with how we look in that swimsuit to go to the beach or pool party.  Imagine how freeing it would be to be able to let go of those negative views about yourself, even if just for a day.  If there are areas of your body that you're not ready to be in love with, that's totally ok.  I can help minimize focus on these areas with posing, lighting and wardrobe.

THIS IS YOUR LIFE.  RIGHT NOW, THIS VERY SECOND.  Don't waste it on self hate.  So many times I've heard clients say, "oh I wish I would have done a boudoir session years ago, I was too self conscious.  This really could have helped me."

The most transformative boudoir sessions I've done have been the ones where my client does the shoot for themselves.  You don't need a significant other to do a boudoir photoshoot.  If you do happen to have a significant other, it's just a bonus that they get to enjoy the photos with you!  This experience is all about you and your relationship to yourself.

These shoots aren’t limited to the great outdoors of Virginia.  If you envision being engulfed in a sea of green moss that covers every inch of the Earth surrounding you, let’s go to the Pacific Northwest!  If big open skies with rolling sand dunes is more your speed, let’s head to the sand dunes out west! Your shoot is only limited by our imaginations.  We can go anywhere in the world.  The following photos were taken in Florida, Kauai, Italy & Bali.

What to Wear for your Rewilding Session

This is entirely up to you.  The last thing I want to do is to fit you in a box that goes against who you are.  If what I say here doesn’t resonate with you, then carve your own path and let’s create your shoot together.  What would your ideal outdoor boudoir shoot look like?  Do you envision yourself prancing barefoot through the forest in a white lace gown and a flower crown?  Or elegantly draped across a log with a blood red dress swirling around your feet? When choosing your outfit, think about the fabric and how it will move.  If it’s too stiff it won’t move with your movements and body. Flowy fabric that hangs nicely photographs well.  Chiffon and silk are ideal. The weight of jersey fabric can work well too, depending on the garment. If you’re not sure how something will look, please don’t hesitate to message me!

Light, Natural Colors

I love the way white, ivory, and natural colors look in nature for a softer, sweeter look.  Loose, flowy dresses with lots of fabric would be ideal for this look. Other options would be sheer lace robes, crochet cover-ups, and fabric.  Flower crowns go well with this look as well!

Bold & Dramatic

Bold colors that pop against the natural setting can give your photos a dramatic look.  Stick to colors that are commonly found in nature such as black & deep red. Brighter colors, such as bright pink, bright blue or neon green can look out of place in nature. Bold patterns can as well.  But hey, if you’re looking for something that has that kind of look then go for it! This is YOUR shoot and it should be truly, authentically you.

Nude

You can’t go wrong with fine art nudes in nature.  You won’t regret the freeing feeling the experience of being in the wild outdoors with nothing between you and nature.  I will never pressure you into taking more off than you’re ready for.  If you decide to do nude photos before you shoot, then change your mind in the moment that’s 100% okay.  Listen to your heart and honor what you’re feeling.

Clothed or bare, come with your heart naked.
