Jen & Tina do their own Boudoir session in Lafayette!!!

We had an awesome time at our new Lafayette location! We want to thank Leah at the Buchanan Lofts for being so kind and easy to work with, and for having such a fabulous location! The lofts are a playground for boudoir photography, modern chic and so cozy. Our amazing client was so exhilarating to work with. She had so much energy and excitement for the session, I thought she just may explode when she came in the door! She brought so much fun stuff with her that I thought I was going to explode! Sexy heels, lingerie, a pink and black Harley jacket, her husbands button down Harley shirt, and other fun stuff. We had a blast and the images are so fantastic. Max and I both shot some of our favorite photos in her session. She gave us permission to use her photos online, but we decided against it as she's a high school teacher. She's a really amazing person with such a big heart, we loved working with her and getting to know her. Her husband is going to be thrilled to get his anniversary gift! We will be making an amazing sample book of her photos, however. So if you want to see some of our favorite photos that we've shot thus far, come by the studio!

After her session we still had so much energy and excitement that we decided to do mini sessions for Tina, the makeup artist, and I. Max photographed both of us as we attempted to make use of every nook and cranny in the loft. We had SO much fun!!! It had been a little while since I've been in front of the camera (not counting lighting tests) that I forgot how much work it was! I was definitely sore the next day from holding poses, but I was still feeling like a goddess. Being in front of the camera really reminded me of the importance of what we do as boudoir photographers. It's not just about the photos, it's SO much more than that. It's not just about the experience either, though the experience is amazing and unforgettable each time. It's more about the whole package, or gift if you will, that you take away from the session. It's about the extra pep in your step that you get from a confidence boost, and being able to hold your head a little higher and walk a little taller. I know when the album comes in it's going to be like Christmas, I can't wait. I try to make it a point to do my own session every so often to not only remind myself what it's like to be in front of the camera, but also to keep a record of my changing, maturing looks. I'm actually looking forward to seeing how my body ages and matures over the years, and it's going to be interesting to be able to look back at all my albums as sort of a journal of my life without words. Our bodies sometimes say more about us than we would be able to write.
